Free Ukulele Tab for Every Breath You Take by The Police

Often when I perform concerts, one of the 'pop' pieces that most people ask me about is my version of 'Every Breath You Take' originally by the Police. So I have done a quick video of it and included a Free Tab with this blog.

It's a pretty tricky piece to master, but well worth sticking with. It is tricky because you are trying to do the melody and the main 'riff' at the same time. The main riff was written by Andy Summers and it is one of the best known in the world. Apparently at one time Sting was earning over £1000 a day from the song. The irony was that the main part of the song, the guitar riff, was written by Andy Summers. Andy then threatened to take Sting to court until Sting decided to give Andy his fair share - and they all lived happily ever after.

There are some big stretches in this piece, and some tricky patterns, but stick with it - its great fun. I think once again this is a piece that shows just what the ukulele is capable for such a small instrument. Here is a quick video of me playing it.

If you enjoy the piece please subscribe to my mailing list as I often send out free tabs. Subscribe at the bottom of the home page here - www.paulmansell.co.uk

Finally, I have a new YouTube channel out called Anarchy In the Ukulele which you may well enjoy - its got lots of reviews and performances all ukulele related ! You can subscribe here - Anarchy In The Ukulele - YouTube
